Born in Ghana and raised in Canberra from a young age, Citizen Kay is a talented performer, songwriter, producer, and creative. Kay found his love for music after being introduced to The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, and Kanye West, and since then, he has honed his craft into a distinctive style of lyricism and flow.
Citizen Kay’s musical journey gained momentum with a series of widely acclaimed singles, starting in 2013 with “Yes!” He followed up with his mini-album Demokracy, which broke into the top 10 in the CMJ Hip Hop charts and received an ARIA nomination for “Best Urban Album” as well as “Best Independent Hip Hop Album” at the Air Awards. In 2015, Citizen Kay released his debut full-length album, With the People, produced in collaboration with Ben Garden.
Established by the Travel Promotion Act of 2009 as the nation’s first public-private partnership to spearhead a globally coordinated marketing effort to promote the United States as a premier travel destination and communicate U.S. visa and entry policies, Brand USA began operations in May 2011.
